Bookmaking Workshop - Wednesday 26th March

Led by artisan May Everett, in this workshop you will be introduced to simple folded book construction techniques and will have the opportunity to make your own mini book. You will have access to a variety of vintage collage papers and mixed media materials and can personalise your book by incorporating your own prints, drawings, or text.

The workshop will be followed by a delicious Artelium supper and a glass of Artelium wine.

All materials will be provided. It is advisable that participants bring an apron or old shirt to protect their clothes. Suitable for beginners and those with some experience.

This workshop is part of the ‘Festival of Making’ week, which kicks off with a Spring Makers Market on the 22nd March followed by a week of creative workshops running from the 24th - 28th March.

May Everett is a professional artist and fully qualified teacher with a BA (Hons) in Fine Art and a Masters level 7 PGCE. She works in a studio in central Lewes and teaches workshops across Sussex at venues such as West Dean College, Hove Museum and the Paddock Art Studio. Her own work explores experimental approaches to drawing, painting, and printmaking. She is interested in lyrical abstraction and the combination of spontaneous mark making with more considered printed or collaged elements.
