Places to Stay Near Artelium Wine Estate
There are so many fabulous places to stay in the South Downs, as well as in Lewes and Brighton. At Artelium we are blessed to be situated in the most beautiful surroundings and have many great accommodation options near the vineyard.
The Jolly Sportsman
The Jolly Sportsman in East Chiltington offers four newly refurbished rooms with luxurious en-suite bathrooms and super king-size beds. Meals served there are made from local, seasonal produce, including daily deliveries of fresh fish caught off the Sussex coast. Bread is freshly baked on site and there a is stunning garden to dine in during the spring and summer, and cosy indoor space with two fires for the colder months.
Ockenden Manor Hotel & Spa
A charming Elizabethan manor house with 28 exquisite rooms, a superb spa, and a renowned restaurant nestled amidst picturesque surroundings overlooking Cuckfield Park. Ockenden Manor, with its rich history and distinctive character, offers a respite from the ordinary. Relax in the elegant sitting room, aglow with the warmth of a crackling log fire. Conveniently located less than an hour from London, it's an idyllic escape waiting to be discovered.
Blackberry Wood
For the more adventurous there is a small, family-run campsite called Blackberry Wood which is also located in Streat. They offer some very unusual glamping options including Treehouses, converted buses and even a helicopter you can stay in! All this is within walking distance of our vineyard. This interesting campsite is extremely popular, so we recommend booking early if you want to stay there.
The Bull
Not far from us is The Bull in Ditchling, a cosy pub with stylish guest rooms. Each room features nice, little extras like Roberts radios and sumptuous ‘Cowshed’ products. Evening meals are modern British in style and are created using locally sourced ingredients. Meals can be taken inside the delightful restaurant or outside in their Bedouin tent which offers a charming casual dining experience.
The White Horse
The White Horse in Ditchling has 7 bedrooms and a great spot directly opposite the village church within easy access of footpaths to the top of the South Downs. It has a bustling garden terrace and also hosts the village popup shop.
Gravetye Manor
Gravetye Manor is a 16th century manor house hotel, with a beautiful Michelin starred restaurant and gardens worth a visit in their own right.
Airbnb
Airbnb also have some delightful options on their site, some being within walking distance of the estate.
