ABOUT THE LABLE
Artefacts #4 and #5 were released to mark the first major contemporary sculpture to be installed on the Artelium Wine Estate, ‘Futures Past’ by Will Nash.
Nash’s work explores form and structure through geometry, utilising sequences of planes and angles to create works rooted in observations of patterns in nature and physics.
For this label, Nash created multiple grids of simple triangles and curves that are superimposed to create prismatic patterns; orderly sequences decay into chaos and then combine to find a new order. The design was taken from one of the 100 unique screen prints from a body of work titled ‘Century’, which accompanied the installation of the ‘Futures Past’ sculpture.
