A Week of Workshops

In 2025 Artelium is partnering with The Makers Directory to create a week of maker’s workshops led by talented Makers Directory members under the banner ‘A Celebration of Making.’
Hosting our Artelium Christmas Makers Market for the last 3 years, along with our strong and growing partnership with The Makers' Directory, has opened us up to the wealth of talent and creativity on our doorstep. We want to support and celebrate the innovation of local makers and spread creativity and joy through this week of workshops.
There will be a vibrant and bespoke offering, from Lino-printing to table -scaping, jewellery making to basket weaving. The workshops will vary in length and price, from short 2 hours sessions for you to dip your toe, to expansive half-day workshops. Our ticket prices include a delicious lunch and a glass of Artelium wine to have either before or after your session.
We have a range of confirmed workshops for you to view below, with more being added over the next few weeks. Exact dates and times will be confirmed at a later date. Not sure what to go for? Rush Platter Workshop with Matilda Grover

Join artisan Matilda Grover for a 4 hour rush platter workshop.
Learn a variety of basketry processes used in Rush work, starting with a check weave base, then weaving the main body of your piece using the pairing technique, concluding with a simple track border
During the workshop there will be time for some experimenting and learning about Rush. Walk away with your own rush platter or bowl, perfect for storing vegetables and other small items.

Silver Bangle Workshop with Oriana Jewellery

Pinch Pot Workshop with Katharine Rabson Stark

Come and make pinch pots the mindful way with artisan Katharine Rabson Stark! Take time out to embrace the feeling of clay in your hands as Katharine leads you through a series of simple exercises in which you will relax and enjoy the simple process of making. You will have a chance to make a series of small pinch pots and will leave them to be fired and glazed for collection at a later point. Materials are provided - all you need to bring is yourself.
